Farm Business Services is uniquely positioned to provide practical advice to farm businesses. FBS Farms is actively involved in farming running both a dairy enterprise and beef finishing unit. This hands on approach, backed up by ongoing training enable Farm Business's consultants to provide effective practical solutions to its clients.

Ruminant Nutrition

Our team specialises in providing strategic nutritional advice:

Ration formulation (including forage and concentrate feed analysis)
Feed/Straights purchasing
Utilisation of home grown feed
Cropping strategies to optimise forage and concentrate production on the farm

Dairy Costings

Farm Business Services can provide a monthly dairy costing service which can be carried out online, by post or by email/fax. The dairy costings can then be used to form the basis of a dairy consultancy package with regular visits and ongoing advice provided.

Forage/Feed Analysis

Farm Business Services can offer a full range of feed and forage analysis. A range of packages area provided which include self sample or samples can be taken by trained staff on farm. Analysis is carried out using approved laboratories with resulted provided with 48 hours.

Soil Analysis

Farm Business Services can provide a soil sampling service with follow up advice offered on correct fertilizer and liming policies. Samples can be taken by the farmer or by Farm Business Service's trained staff.

Input Sourcing

Farm Business Services can provide advice on the sourcing of inputs, in particular feeds and fertilizer. Advice can be provided to ensure clients are achieving value for money purchases. Farm Business Services currently facilitates two buying groups in the central belt purchasing in excess of £1,000,000 of agricultural inputs annually.
